DMS 110 Introduction to Normal Sonographic Imaging

This course provides students with an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, imaging scan planes, and descriptive terminology used for ultrasound images. Emphasis is placed on standard scanning protocols and the normal sonographic appearance of a variety of structures including abdominal and pelvic organs, blood vessels, and other human tissue. Other topics include embryology, lab values, and correlative imaging modalities. R, W1, M2, 12 (2 lecture hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.

Corequisite

DMS 101, DMS 104, and DMS 105 - must be taken at the same time as this course.
