DMS 101 Fundamentals of Sonography

Students become oriented to the profession of medical sonography and the scanning process. Primary topics emphasized in this course include the historical perspectives of sonography, introduction to patient care and communication, ergonomics of scanning, medical ethics and law, medical techniques, sonographic guidelines, terminology, basic principles, and knobology. R, W1, M2, 12 (2 lecture hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.
