DMS 108 Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation II

This is the second of a two-course sequence providing an in-depth study of ultrasound physics and instrumentation. Covered are advanced principles of sound waves and their interaction with media. Sonography instrumentation includes transducers, Doppler, and related quality assurance and artifacts. Emphasis is placed on principles of transducer resolution and the bioeffects of transducer use. R, W1, M2, 12 (3 lecture hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.

Corequisite

DMS 102, DMS 103, and DMS 109 - must be taken at the same time as this course.
