CVS 112 Normal Cardiovascular Sonography

This course provides students with an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, imaging planes, and descriptive terminology used for cardiac and vascular ultrasound imaging. Emphasis is placed on standard scanning protocols and the normal sonographic appearance of a variety of cardiac and vascular structures. An introduction to normal 2D imaging, M-Mode, and Doppler principles and analysis is included in addition to topics in correlative imaging modalities. R, W1, M2, 12 (2 lecture hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.
