MAT 088 Developmental Beginning Algebra I

This course in introductory algebra of the real number system is designed for students who have little to no background in algebra. Topics covered include simplifying algebraic expressions (using the distributive property and combining like terms); solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable; graphing linear functions; and solving systems of linear equations. This course is not designed for transfer credit, and credit will not be given toward an associate degree. 14 (2 lecture hours) Prerequisite: MAT 082 with a minimum grade of C or appropriate placement score
