Program Information:
The Diesel Technologies program prepares students for entry-level service positions in the agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and heavy truck industries. Specific job titles include Bus and Truck Mechanic, Diesel Engine Specialist, Off Road Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician, and Ag Mechanic. The program is a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree program. The program begins in the fall semester and consists of five consecutive semesters for a total of sixty semester hours. Students will learn to maintain, diagnose, and service diesel powered equipment in our state-of-the-art facility. Students will complete two paid eight-week internships at a local employer during the sophomore year. Students are required to earn a minimum grade of C in all required program courses. Admission to this program involves additional procedures.

Admission to the Program:

Submit the LLCC admission application.

Submit the Diesel Equipment Technology application.

Schedule and take the required assessments.

Meet with the Program Director for an information session and tour of the facilities.

Submit High School Transcripts
Application to the Diesel Technologies program is a separate procedure from application and admission to LLCC. Prospective applications are ranked on several criteria such as high school transcripts, assessment scores, previous academic achievement, related work experience, and Diesel Technologies application narratives.
