SOC 211 Social-Psychology
The study of social psychology is the scientific study of the individual within the larger social context. This course explores the nature of these interacting forces and examines various behaviors impacted by them including; attitudes, interpersonal relationships, altruism, aggression, prejudice, conformity/obedience, group behavior, collective behavior and social movements, examining situational, cultural and individual contributions to the interaction between groups and individuals. This course emphasizes the study of social roles, the emergence of personality in social interaction, the analysis of attitudes, investigation of small groups, and the study of group structure and process.
