WIT 215 CNC Fundamentals and Troubleshooting

Provides a comprehensive introduction to computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining processes. Topics include safety, Computer Numerical Control of machinery, setup and operation of CNC machinery, introduction to programming of CNC machinery, introduction to ball screws, servo motors and encoders. Will introduce the student to machining troubleshooting fundamentals and preventive maintenance on CNC machinery. 12 (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours).
