BDM 121 Construction Electrical and Plumbing Systems

This course prepares students to design, install, test, and maintain both electrical and plumbing systems. In the first 8 weeks, students will focus on electrical safety, theory, tools, and code-compliant installations. Topics include wiring systems, service panels, commercial conduit bending, and load calculations based on the National Electrical Code (NEC). The following 8 weeks explore plumbing systems including supply and drain-waste-vent (DWV) piping, fixture installation, and commercial plumbing design with emphasis on safety, pressure testing, and code compliance. The course combines classroom instruction with lab experience simulating real-world installations. 12 (2 lecture hours and 4 laboratory hours). Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.
