BDM 102 Introduction to Construction Occupations

This course covers career exploration in the construction trades, guiding students through pathways and apprenticeship opportunities by connecting them with local unions, contractors, and industry professionals. Students will then learn to identify and safely operate construction hand and power tools, understand emergency procedures, and recognize hazardous conditions. Instruction includes basic construction math, OSHA regulations, and code compliance, culminating in completion of the OSHA 10-hour Outreach Training Program. 12 (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours). Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires and additional variable tuition rate.
