MLT 103 Preanalytical Operations

Students will understand the basic duties, skills and responsibilities of a phlebotomist. Students will explore the scope of practice along with legal principles and state and federal regulations of health information including HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA. Integration of knowledge acquired in basic, technical, and non-technical areas in preparation for professional roles and life-long professional growth and development. R, W1, M2, 12 (2 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.
