PHI 204 Introduction to Philosophy
This is an introductory survey course in Western philosophy, from the ancient Greeks to contemporary thinking. The course explores numerous sub-disciplines within philosophy, including but not limited to metaphysics (study of reality), epistemology (study of knowledge), religion and belief in God, ethical theories of moral right and wrong, existentialism, political philosophy and a section on Eastern thought (Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism). The course deals with fairly high level abstraction on a routine basis. R, 11 (3 lecture hours) IAI: H4 900
Prerequisite/Corequisite
EGL 101 - must be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course.
