Program Information:

This program provides students with a broad range of analytic skills and a sound basis for transfer and the completion of higher degrees in political science and related fields. The political science core classes provide students with a comprehensive grounding in the major sub-fields of political science upon which to base their future studies. LLCC Political Science graduates have gone on to successful and influential careers in federal, state and local governments, national and international organizations, law, journalism, business and education.

  • Study of governmental institutions and political behavior.
  • Divided into political theory; American government, state and local politics; comparative government; and international relations.
  • Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which vary.
  • A concentration in Political Science can lead to a variety of bachelor's and higher degrees.
