Program Information:
This program prepares students for baccalaureate coursework in the fields of exercise and sports science. It also promotes healthy lifestyles and enhances performance in exercise, sport and physical activity settings. Career examples include: careers in health and fitness; fitness trainers and instructors; personal trainers; sports management; athletic administration. This program also offers preparation for the first step on the pathway to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Athletic training or related careers that require at least a Master’s Degree.
- This program is appropriate for transfer students
- Meets general education requirements, known as the IAI or GECC (itransfer.org/aboutiai)
- Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which vary; Students should meet with their Student Success Advisor for planning prior to each registration cycle
- Students should plan to work with intended transfer school(s) early to determine which ESS or other electives will be required for that particular school’s admission criteria. Important Note: sequence courses such as BIO 175 and BIO 176 should be fully completed at LLCC or students run the risk of having to repeat the first part at the transfer school
- Students who are planning on teaching in a secondary school should meet with a Student Success Advisor for Education Majors
