MAT 041 Corequisite for Introductory Statistics

Students in this course will receive additional support and instruction in order to successfully complete MAT 141 - Introductory Statistics.  A number fundamentals of numeracy will be incorporated including fractions and decimals with arithmetic operations in each, exponents, and the order of operations.  Other topics will include basic problem solving and the language of modeling, introductions to algebraic expressions and linear equations, the rectangular coordinate system and algebra in two variables, scientific notation, and the relationship between sets and inequalities. 14 (2 lecture hours)
