DET 102 Diesel Engine Theory and Repair

Students will learn the principles of operation, common service procedures, and the tools and equipment used in the service and repair of internal combustion engines. Whenever possible, practical and realistic scenarios are used to reinforce theoretical content. Special emphasis is placed on diesel engines. Laboratory practices include the disassembly, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of a diesel engine. 12 (2 lecture and 6 laboratory hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional variable tuition rate.
