CMA 111 CNA to Clinical Medical Assistant Theory and Laboratory

This course introduces the Certified Nursing Assistant concepts, scientific and social science principles necessary in the practice of Medical Assisting. It introduces and allows for practice of the laboratory skills and procedures needed in clinical care of patients including exploration of the ethical and legal implications of patient care. There is an emphasis on coordination of care, effective communication, administrative and office assisting skills, and other competencies within the scope of practice. 12 (3 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours)
