AST 101 Introduction to Astronomy

This is an introductory course covering the structure of the solar system and the universe. This course is designed for science and non-science majors who want a basic understanding of the organization and history of the solar system. Topics include birth, life and death of a star; origin, history and future of the universe; prospects for extraterrestrial life forms; and the techniques and instrumentation used in investigating the universe.
