Transfer Program

Colleague Code: AFA.MUSIC

Curriculum Code: AFA 103

Program Information:

Program Information

  • The AFA is for anyone who wishes to major in music, including music performance, music education, music business, music therapy, etc.
  • Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which vary.
  • Since the completion of the AFA does not complete the Illinois General Education Core Curriculum, students may need to complete the general education requirements of the school to which they transfer.
  •

  • For More Information

  • Contact the Arts and Communication Department at 217-786-2286 or see a Student Success Coach.
  •

  • Admission to the Program

  • Students must demonstrate Fundamentals of Music (MUS 100) proficiency through course completion or passing of the music theory placement exam. Contact Jason Waddell (jason.waddell@llcc.edu) to set up a time to take the placement exam.
  • Students must complete an entrance audition for the music faculty to apply for admission to the AFA program. The audition will require the performance of two solo works in contrasting styles, as well as sight-reading. All-State audition music is acceptable. To set up the audition, contact the Private Applied Coordinator, Laurie Lewis-Fritz (laurie.lewis-fritz@llcc.edu).
