Program Information:
This program is designed as the first two years of a transfer degree in the field of human services or social work. Freshman and sophomore studies focus on a spread of general education coursework.
- Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which vary significantly.
- Human services careers for which this program provides preliminary coursework include: human resource assistant, probation/correction officer, substance abuse/mental health counselor, social worker, rehabilitation counselor, school/career counselor, and marriage/family therapist
- Students who are planning on teaching in a secondary school are required to have a specified ACT score or to take an alternative test (determined by the State of Illinois) prior to transferring to an upper-division institution.
