Program Information:
This suggested listing of courses that fulfills the requirements for earning an AS at LLCC, is primarily designed to prepare students seeking to transfer with junior status to four-year schools in Illinois to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering.
- Since program requirements vary among the four-year schools, the courses listed here are only suggested guidelines. Students are strongly encouraged to explore the specific program requirements of the four-year schools they are considering for their transfer, as they make their course selections for their first two years of study at LLCC. LLCC advisors, faculty members, and deans are also sources of helpful advice.
- To complete the AS in two years, the calculus sequence (starting with MAT 131) should begin in the first semester. Students unprepared for MAT 131 should consider completing MAT 113 and MAT 120 during the summer term preceding their first fall semester at LLCC.
- If you intend to complete only one course of a sequenced offering at LLCC (such as CHE 101/CHE 102 or PHY 201/PHY 202)and the latter at your transfer school, you run the risk of having to repeat some course(s) at your transfer school IF the content split in the sequence at LLCC varies enough from the content split at the transfer school. Therefore, it might be in your best interest to finish out the sequence or not start the sequence, before transferring.
- Chemical engineering majors should pursue the AS in Chemistry.
