Program Information:
This accelerated program prepares Certified Nursing Assistants to work with clinical coordinators or practice administrators learn clinical medical assisting. As a Clinical Medical Assistant, the student will be involved in the comprehensive medical billing and setup of patients for medical facilities. The student will also be involved in the practice and management of a medical office in areas such as receptionist duties, telephone techniques, appointment scheduling, verbal and written communications, medical and non-medical record management. The student will learn basic patient setup for triage care and perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners run smoothly.
Admissions Requirements:
- Students may enroll in the CNA to Clinical Medical Assistant Bridge Program after applying to Lincoln Land Community College at www.llcc.edu/admission and meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age when program starts
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be proficient in English
- Possess basic computer skills
- Be employed as a CNA and show proof of 600 hours within 6 months of program start date (verification of hours form).
- Be in good standing with IDPH
- Complete registration by contacting the Capital City Training Center to make a registration appointment.
- Submit verification of hours form before start date.
