Program Information:
This degree strives to prepare students in the arts of acting, directing, design, and stagecraft. This program provides an atmosphere for exploration into this most immediate, collaborative, and compelling art form giving students opportunities to perform while providing a strong foundation for transfer to a four-year institution.
- This program is appropriate for students seeking pre-professional training or academic preparation for the teaching field.
- Individual theatre courses may be of interest to students who would like to broaden an understanding of the humanities or be exposed to a vocational pursuit.
- Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which vary.
- Students who are planning on teaching in a secondary school are required to have a specified ACT score or to take an alternative test (determined by the State of Illinois) prior to transferring to an upper-division institution. Students should contact their transfer institution for more specific information associated with possible tests required for advancement in that program and for more information associated with this.
