This program helps students live a more healthy and active lifestyle and enhances performance in exercise, sport and physical activity settings. It also lays a foundation for students seeking to become a coach or physical education instructor.
- Designed for transfer students.
- Meets general education requirements.
- Meets beginning course requirements for a physical education or recreation teacher.
- Prepare students for careers in related fields such as Physical Therapy, Sports Management, Sports Psychology, Coaching, etc.
- Students planning to transfer are recommended to verify senior-institution requirements, which may vary.
- Students who are planning on teaching in a secondary school are required to have a specified ACT score or to take an alternative test (determined by the State of Illinois) prior to transferring to an upper-division institution. Students should contact their transfer institution for more specific information associated with possible tests required for advancement in that program and for more information associated with this.
