EMS 201 Paramedic - Pathophysiology

This is the initial course of three required to complete the Paramedic program. Students develop proficiency in the roles, responsibilities and skill level required by state and national standards for licensing as a Paramedic. Emphases are placed on medicolegal considerations, airway management, cardiac management, pathophysiology and patient assessment. R, 12 (9 lecture hours, 4 laboratory hours and 6 clinical hours) Note: There is a component of the course contained in the LLCC Blackboard system that each student is responsible for completing prior to the first class session. Students must attend the first class session to be seated. No late registrations are allowed due to IDPH attendance regulations. Students are subject to a urinalysis drug screening and a criminal background check prior to conducting clinical rotations once the course starts.
