MUS 131 Private Applied Music - Instrumental
This course provides instruction for those desiring to improve their instrumental skills whether for personal enrichment or as a music major's secondary performance area. The course consists of a one-half hour (30-minute) lesson per week. A minimum of five hours practice per week is required. A recital performance is suggested; a juried exam is required for music majors and for those desiring to advance to the 231 level as a music major. 11 (2 laboratory hours) Note: In addition to tuition, this course requires an additional course fee.
Prerequisite
Each student will be assessed by the music faculty according to specific performance capabilities. Arrangements must be made prior to registration with the Instructor who can be reached through the Arts and Humanities Office by calling 217-786-2329 between 8 am and 5 pm on weekdays.
