Transfer Program

Colleague Code: AA.ARCH

Curriculum Code: ACT  100

Program Information:

Drafters prepare technical drawings and plans used by production and construction workers. Their drawings provide visual guidelines, showing the technical details, specifying dimensions, materials to be used and procedures and processes to be followed. Drafters fill in technical details, using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, codes and calculations previously made by engineers, surveyors, architects or scientists. They use technical handbooks, tables, calculators and computers. This degree prepares students for transfer to a four-year university.
  • Careers in either architecture or construction management.
  • Students planning to transfer would benefit by consulting the senior institution as soon as a major is determined.
  • Students who are planning on teaching in a secondary school are required to have a specified ACT score or to take an alternative test (determined by the State of Illinois) prior to transferring to an upper-division institution. Students should contact their transfer institution for more specific information associated with possible tests required for advancement in that program and for more information associated with this.
