PHI 205 Ethics: Morality and Contemporary Values

Ethics is the study of morality, meaning various and competing views regarding right and wrong behavior. Half of the course explores Western theories of morality from a secular (non-religious) perspective. The other half of the course is an application of those various moral theories to such diverse contemporary issues such as abortion, euthanasia, death penalty, war, economic justice, stem cell research, sexual behavior, the environment, animal rights and globalization.
