EGL 147 Women's Literature

The course covers historical and contemporary works of literature --fiction and nonfiction, poetry and drama -- written by women and primarily about women. Selected readings represent diverse perspectives in race, class, style, and sexuality. The course also includes a close scrutiny of literary criticism and a study of varied literary styles and techniques, which helps students begin to analyze the ways female writers have contributed to, challenged, resisted, and expanded literary traditions.
