CRJ 145 Corrections Practices

This course covers safety and compliance practices at a correctional facility, including security officer training, firearms, security theory, and applied security operations. The legal definitions of various criminal acts, detainee rights and privileges, and dealing with liability are discussed. Basic investigation procedures are covered. Issues with detainee interactions are explored. This course is provided by the Sangamon County Corrections department only to its employees. 12 (6 laboratory hours) Prerequisite: Employee of Sangamon County Corrections Department
