ABE 051 Adult Basic Education/Beginning

This course is designed to offer low-level learners the background and instruction necessary to improve basic reading, writing and math skills. Emphasis is placed on increasing reading capabilities, understanding and recognizing the parts of speech, composing complete sentences within given topical areas and organizing and sequencing information. Students receive instruction in basic mathematical concepts with an emphasis on computational skills and an introduction to fractions. (4 lecture hours)
